- Published flat monthly rates for hosting and mailboxes; custom builds are quoted as a flat fee by scope, not locked into fixed packages.
- Clients own their content, copy, photos, domain and delivered application code; GreenTree keeps its Layer B hosted backend modules.
- Acceptable-use rules protect our IP reputation: no spam, phishing, unauthorized scanning, or unlawful content.
- Hosting is engineered for 99.982% availability with 60-second external monitoring; specific remedies are set in your order.
- Existing customers keep grandfathered rates; governed by Connecticut law.
1. Agreement and Scope
These Terms apply to your use of greentreehosting.com and to every service GreenTree Hosting, LLC provides: custom web application engineering, ongoing engineering and content retainers, managed Linux cloud hosting, authoritative DNS, monitoring, backups, databases, and SmarterMail enterprise email. If you sign a proposal, order form, or master services agreement, it controls where it conflicts with these Terms.
2. Services and Orders
Services begin when you accept a proposal or complete an order and we confirm it. We perform engineering with qualified human personnel and may use AI-assisted tools under human supervision (see our AI Usage and Human Verification notice). Timelines are estimates unless a proposal states a firm date.
3. Pricing and Quotes
We publish our standard rates and quote custom work as a flat fee based on scope: the number of pages, features, integrations, and portals involved. We do not lock customers into fixed packages, so a ten-page site and a fifteen-page site are quoted at different prices, and added features are scoped on top. Quotes state what is included, and changes in scope are agreed in writing before work begins.
Published monthly rates are Core Cloud ($99/mo), Core Cloud + Management ($199/mo), and SmarterMail Enterprise mailboxes ($6/mo for 25 GB Core, $10/mo for 50 GB Business and Lists, $18/mo for 100 GB Executive Vault), with one Enterprise mailbox included on $99+ hosting plans. Existing GreenTree hosting and mailbox customers keep their grandfathered monthly rates on active accounts unless they choose to change tiers. Taxes, if any, are added where required by law.
4. Billing and Payment
Fees, billing intervals, and due dates are stated in your proposal, order form, or invoice. You are responsible for fees on services you order. We may suspend a service after reasonable notice for unpaid undisputed charges, and we will restore it promptly once the account is current.
5. Ownership and Intellectual Property
Upon completion of agreed project milestones, clients receive full ownership of the content and deliverables identified as client-owned: business content, written copy, branding, photography, licensing records, customer data, the registered domain name, and the custom application source code and static assets we deliver. Clients may obtain a portable copy of their static website pages and media assets at any time.
GreenTree retains ownership of its reusable hosted software and services, called Layer B: form routing, lead management, the client operations portal, the visual pin board, administrative dashboards, and underlying infrastructure. These continue to operate while the client is on an active hosting plan, or must be replaced by the client's new provider. Open-source components remain under their own licenses. See the Platform Notice for details.
6. Your Content and Responsibilities
- You confirm you have the rights to the content, images, and data you provide us.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of regulated claims on your site, such as licenses, credentials, ratings, and pricing, which we will help you verify but cannot independently warrant.
- You keep your account credentials confidential and tell us promptly about suspected misuse.
7. Acceptable Use and Anti-Abuse
GreenTree maintains clean IP reputation across mx.greentreemail.com and our compute subnets. The following are prohibited and may result in immediate suspension or termination:
- Unsolicited bulk commercial email (spam) and phishing.
- Unauthorized network scanning, probing, or attacks on any system.
- Hosting or distributing unlawful, infringing, or malicious material.
- Interfering with other customers' service or consuming resources abusively.
8. Availability and Support
We engineer production Linux compute, SmarterMail storage, and authoritative BIND DNS for 99.982% verified availability, backed by 60-second external heartbeat monitoring and a geo-redundant network. Planned maintenance is performed to minimize disruption. Service credits or other remedies, if any, are defined in your order or agreement; this paragraph describes our engineering target and is not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
10. Backups and Your Data
We run automated daily database backups with off-site copies, and our infrastructure notices and responds to failures. Backups are a safeguard, not a substitute for your own records of critical data. On termination, we will provide a reasonable export of client-owned content and, on request, delete it from active systems; backups age out on normal rotation.
11. AI-Assisted Work and Automated Tools
We use AI-assisted tools under human supervision, and a human reviews work before delivery. On-site assistants and calculators provide preliminary, non-binding guidance only. We never sell customer data or use it to train public third-party AI models. See our AI Usage and Human Verification notice.
12. Third-Party Services and Links
Our services may rely on or link to third-party providers, such as domain registrars, email relays, and payment processors. Their terms govern their services, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
Except as expressly stated in a written agreement, services and content are provided "as is" and "as available," and GreenTree disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GreenTree will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the services will not exceed the fees you paid us for the affected service in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
15. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify GreenTree against third-party claims arising from content you supply or your violation of these Terms or applicable law, and we will do the same for claims that our deliverables, as delivered, infringe a third party's intellectual property rights.
16. Term and Termination
You may cancel services as stated in your order. We may suspend or terminate for material breach, abuse, or non-payment after reasonable notice, except where immediate action is needed to protect the network or other customers. Sections that by nature should survive termination, including ownership, fees owed, disclaimers, and liability limits, will survive.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The parties will first try to resolve disputes in good faith through direct discussion before pursuing formal proceedings.
18. Changes and Contact
We may update these Terms and will post the new effective date here; continued use after a change means you accept it. Contact support@greentreehosting.com or GreenTree Hosting, LLC, Southbury, Connecticut 06488, USA.
